About the Partner
Shanghai Daily (Chinese: 上海日报; Pinyin: Shànghǎi Rìbào) began publishing in October 1999 and is one of two main English-language newspapers in China. Its primary audience is visiting foreigners, mainly overseas investors and tourists, though many Chinese students read it to improve their English.
The paper reports the economic, social, cultural and diplomatic developments in Shanghai and the surrounding region. It used to give its readers a positive impression of the government's dealings in the region, but now that government control has been loosened, it is a mainly business-focused newspaper with more accurate and unbiased news. Its circulation is 120,000 copies.
