Don’t waste time debating the science of global warming argue Andrew J. Hoffman and John G. Woody in this slim volume, part of the Memo to the CEO series. Instead, think about how climate change can harm your company ¬– or give you a business edge. The authors build a compelling case that addressing climate change is the right thing to do, from a fiduciary perspective. Their guide quickly covers the regulatory and scientific basics of climate change, and it offers plenty of real-world examples of companies responding to this threat. The writing is turgid at times, but the difficult spells don’t last long. getAbstract recommends this book to managers seeking advice on this daunting challenge.
About the Authors
Andrew J. Hoffman is a professor and co-director of the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan. He has written six books and more than 50 articles. John G. Woody is with Energy and Environmental Economics (E3), an electricity market consultancy. He was previously a manager at Fotowatio Renewable Ventures and the Business Solutions Fellow at the Pew Center on Global Climate Change.
