Being Good

by David Meyer

Bioethics professor Travis Rieder describes compelling dilemmas to help you to consider your ethical framework.

Travis Rieder, PhD – a professor at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics – provides a guide to ethical reasoning and decision-making. As food for thought, he asks how you – as an ethical and pragmatic person – would address certain moral dilemmas.

Individual Efforts

A man pours almond milk into his granola while wondering if he’s harming the environment. His research reveals that the dairy industry takes an environmental toll, that growing almonds requires a great deal of water, and that most US almonds are grown in drought-prone California. He learns that other plant-based milks may harm the environment less than almond milk does.
