Analysis of in-depth research which gathered and analyzed data from 600 organizations and 25,000 learners offers insight about innovations in learning and development (L&D) methods and programs. Nearly 75% of organizational leaders surveyed worry that the changes facing them by 2020 will be more substantial and broader than the shifts of the past 50 years. The impact of these major changes will leave even healthy organizations with no room for error. To operate successfully in this challenging – and rapidly approaching – future landscape, organizations must recruit, develop and retain experienced, knowledgeable, capable employees. This makes innovative L&D programming a crucial, ongoing responsibility. Many L&D departments don’t develop innovative learning programs that fit their workforce, and only 57% of senior executives believe their L&D units properly align learning activities with corporate priorities.
