员工感到自己被重视、被支持,会变得更投入、更高效、更有创造力,也更有可能留下来坚守岗位。因此,把包容性作为一项投资,主动识别并消除导致员工感到被排斥的因素,能真正释放多元化劳动力的巨大潜力,最终带来更优异的财务表现。

衡量包容性高低与否之所以很难,是因为它常常是无形的:人们很少能感知自己被包容的状态,却能敏锐察觉到被排斥的瞬间。这种体验与健康很相似:你通常不会去想自己有多健康,但生病或受伤时,你心里一清二楚。这注定了要弄清员工的包容感高低是件多么棘手的事情。仅仅靠问员工感觉融入得怎么样之类的全员调查,是无法知晓答案的。就像医生根据病人感觉还好的泛泛之词就做出诊断一样。
