Oxitec, a UK biotechnology company, is releasing genetically engineered “killer” mosquitoes into the Florida Keys.

Oxitec’s experiment attempts to suppress Aedes aegypti mosquito populations, a species that can infect people with viruses like Zika, yellow fever and dengue fever.
