About the Author

Deloitte is a multinational professional services company and one of the “Big Four”accounting firms.

In 2017, for the sixth year running, consultancy firm Deloitte surveyed 8,000 highly educated millennials in 30 countries to learn about their “concerns and motivations.” It found that millennials living in emerging markets are generally more optimistic about their financial prospects and future levels of happiness compared with young people in mature markets. Young people in emerging markets cite crime and corruption as the most pressing challenges to society. Their counterparts in mature markets consider “war, terrorism and political tensions” their society’s top issues of concern.
