The authors argue that a realistic, humble leadership approach that anticipates and responds to change can generate solid results. However, the 21st century is proving to be a period of radical change, making people anxious about their identities, their work, and their criteria for happiness and success. The authors warn that today’s sense of constant disruption has also generated confusion about the nature of leadership and its higher goals.
