Summary

The Economist Intelligence Unit surveyed 332 insurance firms and financial intermediaries from North America, Europe and Asia on their perceptions of industry prospects in the years leading to 2030. Results show that, though the global insurance industry survived the economic turmoil stemming from the 2008 global financial crisis, plenty of challenges still exist: economic insecurity, cumbersome new regulations, the effects of climate change, the increased longevity of aging populations and diminished returns on investment.
