Within two months of ChatGPT’s public debut in November 2022, 100 million people adopted it – a feat unequaled by any previous service or technology launch, reports author Giovanni Giamminola, director of the Italian National Board for Artificial Intelligence (ENIA) and also the author of The Augmented Brand.

As he tells novices, ChatGPT requires no special software installation. Just load ChatGPT (or one of its competitors) on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, and type in a question or prompt. ChatGPT can write about virtually any topic, translate languages, generate computer code, and solve mathematical problems. It converses with people so fluently that they may come to feel as if they’re talking to another human being.
