Recommendation

Being born without arms and legs didn’t stop Nick Vujicic from becoming a successful businessman, best-selling author and world-renowned motivational speaker. It’s all about refusing to accept self-imposed limitations, he explains to host Scott Miller in this moving episode of the On Leadership podcast. What’s holding you back? Vujicic’s message will inspire you to leave your past behind and reach for your dreams.

Summary

Don’t focus on what you lack. Focus on what you have, and make the most of it.

Nick Vujicic was born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, without arms and legs. His parents had no idea about his conditions until he was born. They tirelessly supported him in mastering his life despite the challenges presented by his physical condition. They enrolled him in the mainstream school system – a first for a child with disabilities in Australia.

At school, Vujicic was bullied, and he started to question his worth and purpose. He fell into a depression at age eight and almost committed suicide in the bathtub at age 10. However, the thought of his parents’ grief prevented him from following through with his plan.

You can’t always change your circumstances...

Great motivation on his part, I feel the same way. Don't let anything get in the way of you succeeding what it is that you want to accomplish.
